Chrysler is set to introduce the 2007 Aspen this summer. The SUV is based on the Durango and will feature V-8 power and a host of luxe features. What I don't get, though, is why DCX thinks the world needs another $40,000 SUV. They're already loading the nearly new Jeep Commander with incentives, and the Commander has a 101-day inventory on hand (the Ford Escape Hybrid's turnover is 36 days). I guess I don't understand why automakers think they're going to regain territory with these types of vehicles, especially when the Japanese are eating their lunch on normal, passenger cars.
